Stop? Start? Continue! Restart Special Products Wanroij

In July 2023, bankruptcy was filed for Kronenburg Special Products, the first exporter of composite (polyester) structures and parts for the security sector.

Wijnand and Toon Veens (owners of the buildings) and Daan Touw (buyer of polyester constructions) looked into whether a restart was an option. Initially they tried to realize this with the then owner and his family. Meanwhile, Dirk van Egeraat (son-in-law of Daan Touw) had also joined these talks. After many discussions, it turned out that a joint restart was not possible and so Dirk, Daan, Toon and Wijnand decided to continue the company on December 5th under the name VET Special Products.

VET Special Products

The challenging step was a reality with the start-up of VET because none of us were truly familiar with the production of polyester structures. The name was quickly found: with the ‘V’ from Veens, the ‘E’ from Egeraat, and the ‘T’ from Touw, VET Special Products became a reality. To manage the specialization and craftsmanship behind the production process, we searched for skilled professionals and have since assembled a high-quality team.

Talented staff, new clients and enthusiasm to conquer the market

Furthermore, in the months leading up to the restart of production the machines were put back into use, the remaining inventory was inventoried, suppliers were invited and the first materials were ordered. We have worked hard to map the market again and have managed to establish new national and international contacts in a very short period. Production has since resumed on April 2, 2024 and the first structures for Carrosserie Touw have already come out of the molds. With an order of 15 structures VET Special Products can make significant strides in the Dutch market.

We look with an entrepreneurial and enthusiastic eye towards the future of VET Special Products!
